In this candid conversation, Sandesh Kasupa, and Mani Deepika sit down with Devansh Bansal, Director, DEV, to talk about what “home” really means when you’ve lived in the same city — and the same rhythms — for decades.
It’s not just about moving houses. It’s about moving into a new way of living.
Here are a few moments that hint at what this interview opens up:
Watch the full interview to see how this decision unfolds — in Sandesh’s own words.
Devansh Bansal:
Anything I can help you with before we get started—some tea? coffee, water?
Sandesh Kasupa:
No, nothing, no. Some water. We are Introverts, this is the first time we’re into this.
Devansh Bansal:
Believe me when I say this sir, I am more introverted than you. This is the first time I am doing this as well.. I have had to receive weeks of training from our back end team to do this because I was not. But we don’t have any training. I feel I feel. Yes, I feel blessed that I have received some prep. Okay. But let’s just give them a minute. I think they are doing their final quick final setup.
Devansh Bansal:
So let’s let’s begin, sir. Yeah. Good evening. My name is Devansh. Very, very happy to meet you here today.
Sandesh Kasupa:
Yes.
Mani Deepika:
I’m feeling the same.
Devansh Bansal:
So let’s start with your name, sir.
Sandesh Kasupa:
Yeah, and my name is Sandesh and my spouse Mani Deepika.
Mani Deepika:
Hello.
Devansh Bansal:
Hello mam, Hello sir.
And so. Tell me a little bit more about your family. Like, what do you, what comes to mind when you think of my family?
Sandesh Kasupa:
Generally, parents, siblings, and they would, like, that’s the family. And, like, yeah, we are looking for a house, like it’s the four people, like, parents, and like, are we both together. Okay. They are.
Devansh Bansal:
That’s nice. And how long have you been in the city?
Sandesh Kasupa:
So I’ve been one bought up here. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. So my ancestors, all their ancestors started living here. So it’s almost. My father, their father, I started at great grandfather and all like proper at these. 50, 60s, they started living. So our property is in the Hyderabad in Narayanguda. So we say stay in the same home since 1950 and 60s. Wow. Yeah. So we have our own business in old city, Afzalgunj. Okay. So we are into generators, spare parts, Electric Water Motors. And that business is also over 100 year old business,
Devansh Bansal:
over 100 years old. Wow.
Mani Deepika:
Father is taking care of that and we both like currently working in software.
Devansh Bansal:
Okay. Which which firm are you working in?
Sandesh Kasupa:
I’m working in Amazon and she’s working in Oracle.
Devansh Bansal:
Oracle, Where is where is your office? I mean,
Sandesh Kasupa:
mine is in Nanakramguda.
Mani Deepika:
Okay. And remote? Work from home.
Devansh Bansal:
So how is the commute to work from Afzalgunj to Narayanguda?
Sandesh Kasupa:
So we stay in Narayanguda. Yeah, it’s almost one and half hour journey on daily basis. Up one and a half hour and down, almost one hour. So it’s two and a half hour. So that was the main reason we thought of shifting here so that outer ring road it will be easy. And father also, from here, he can go to Afzalgunj.
Mani Deepika:
It’s mid for both of them.
Sandesh Kasupa:
So actually, first we thought of going to Attapur. Attapur So we visited Attapur Dev Villa.
Sandesh Kasupa:
So then you to.
Mani Deepika:
Actually, we really inspired that we real loved the plan. Like the one villa, which was having ventilation from the sunroof and the plants. It was different from other rooms. was very good. So after that.
Sandesh Kasupa:
So we had a positive vibe. So they said we are into high rise buildings. Then we came over here and then. Now we were a part of their family.
Devansh Bansal:
Yes, yes, yes. You are latest members.. Yeah. Very glad to welcome you. And like one thought comes to mind when you tell me that like you’re working in night, like you, you were working software working in Amazon and you’re working in Oracle. So uh any specific thought apart from the closed vicinity to Afzalgunj, uh or your parents workplace as to why you have picked this Rajendra Nagar as your location and not any other place closer to the west. Which would be even closer to your office in Nanakramguda.
Sandesh Kasupa:
But I think we should make midpoint for Afzalgunj office as well, because we have ORR here itself and it’s said, you know, where we have a new flyover for near the Super can also.
Mani Deepika:
To be frank, actually, this that they told that, like we have been high rise building over here. That’s the time we came to Rajendra Nagar and checked it. Before that we don’t know that Rajandra Nagar is developing this much. We didn’t come and see actually.
Devansh Bansal:
And how was your introduction to Dev? Like, you told me how you were introduced to this location and this project?
Sandesh Kasupa:
So we were just, we were Googling where to get the villas. I mean, we’re looking at the villas first. So we were looking into Attapur because that was also centre for our city and my office. So then we went there and then they suggested we have High Rise buildings over here also. Then that’s the time when we we came. Nice.
Mani Deepika:
Rajendra Nagar was not a choice, but DEV was our choice.
Devansh Bansal:
So that’s a very, very happy key you’ve got ma’am. And so when when did you realise and when did you realise that you wanted to move out of your current home and into a new home? Since you’ve been staying there for.
Mani Deepika:
It’s a long stretch actually, almost two years. Like we are just having a thought, but practically we didn’t go and we didn’t searched too much. Yeah, from past one month or two months, we are a little serious. Serious end.
Devansh Bansal:
Nice. And okay, so coming back to your family and your home, when do you get to.. when do you think you get to spend your family time? Like, how does your day start? How do you spend time with your family?
Sandesh Kasupa:
Mostly on weekends because my shift is around afternoon shift 1 to 10. So by when I come home, it will be almost 11, 11:30 they will be sleeping morning till I wake up, they will be my father and my father will be leaving. So mostly on weekends.
Devansh Bansal:
Okay. So weekends is usually your family time.
Mani Deepika:
Yeah, with family.
Devansh Bansal:
And what about your day? Like, how would you describe your general day? How do you spend your mornings? How do you spend your day? What is your day general day in your life sound like?
Mani Deepika:
Oh, It’s something very casual. Like just waking up, having some good breakfast, go to officeand Come back home. And, uh.
Devansh Bansal:
Since you’ve been staying in your current house since, yeah, since forever, what comes to mind when you think of your home, apart from where you’ you’re staying? Like when you think of your dream house or your dream home, what, what do you envision?
Sandesh Kasupa:
So our dream home is we want a spacious living room or spacious bedroom with a good ventilation and a good balcony, and a good view and everything we got here., yeah. That’s very nice. And also we wanted a gated community, where we can interact with many people. So we’s it is we’re we having.
Devansh Bansal:
And look, what I understand from this conversation, from what you’ve told me is that you had a decently clear view of what you were looking for, what you. That’s. So knowing that what about DEV signature one stood out to you the first time you saw our project?
Mani Deepika:
First time when I saw like for me, the spaciousness that they have given for the bedrooms, the door height, balconies, and the premium tiles and all like it was good. I mean, not like very basic. Yeah, giving some luxury feel. Yes. I’m bit to other projects. So we feel more luxries. here.
Devansh Bansal:
And what did your family discuss about? with your parents once you went back home after your first visit?
Sandesh Kasupa:
Yeah. Even my brother and sister, like they were also with us. So yeah, they also loved the project actually. Yeah. But they stay abroad. They also came to visit, so they saw everything and they were very happy about this.
Devansh Bansal:
I’m glad. But what was your parents’ reaction??
Sandesh Kasupa:
Yeah, they were also happy that we are upgrading ourselves.
Devansh Bansal:
Any specific part of the project or amenity or specifications that you specifically like remember discussing on since not very long ago you started looking in your first visit.
Sandesh Kasupa:
Actually, my parents and all, they didn’t visit all of the sites, so they don’t have any comparison with the other things. Because they came only. They came to DEV saw this. Yeah, they’re satisfied with this. comes. So like we know the difference between the other projects is this project, what we have got the difference.
Devansh Bansal:
So what do you think was the primary differentiator for you in this project?
Sandesh Kasupa:
The premium, the premium. Yeah. A spacious premium and the balcony is the view and everything. Yeah, I.
Devansh Bansal:
And so one more thing I was wondering, and I really wanted to understand is, how do you think was your interaction with the DEV team, the DEV family? Yeah. You’ve been in touch with my team for some time now.
Sandesh Kasupa:
So there were were really, very friendly, very helpful, Neha and Bharat, I guess. So they were constantly keeping, talking to. I like they’re giving us the time as well. Like they’re not pushing or pushing us like they’ didn’t enough time. Like if I ask for the five days, yeah, they’re not pushing me for the five days after the five or six days when start communicating with me again. So that’s like a good thing, you have a good team actually. And like, we asked so many doubts actually.
Devansh Bansal:
No, sir, we call out, we don’t have a sales team in-house. Even Bharat sir’s designation is a customer relationship manager. Okay. So we don’t have a sales team or a marketing team at all. Okay. So we try to be a product oriented company and we are a customer relationship team. We feel the product speaks for itself. That is how we view ourselves and we just want to help you wherever we can help you. Like being like from your background, you’re already a very educated customer. You are very clear about what you want. So, and we’ve tried to put as much information as we can on the website or in the experience centre or whatever platforms we can reach out to you too through. And I am very glad that we were able to help you.
Devansh Bansal:
So having visited the model flat, the Experience Centre and having gotten enough time to go through the entire project, what do you. No, we can What do you feel like, what do you think is your space? Where do you synonymize what space of the project or what part of the project resonates with you the most?
Sandesh Kasupa:
They welcomed the explanation of the project and everything. And then we went to the Model flag and they explained in detail about what is about other projects and what is about the example they do or the windows, the construction projects which we are using and everything. The explanation was very clear.
Devansh Bansal:
That’s very nice.. And we have one feature that we are providing in this project and as per my knowledge, nobody else on this side of the city is able to offer, which is we offer minor internal changes for clients. In case of course, your requirement will be different from the next guys. No two people lead the same life. So have you availed any of these options?
Sandesh Kasupa:
The way, but just we have. Yes, we have closed things. we’ll go back and check the plan and we make the modification. But they have informed us that the right thing is we are open to do that]
Devansh Bansal:
And I think you’ve taken our most expensive 3BHK unit, the top floor is East Facing. Nice, nice. So I think you have a few months before that gets casted and the brickwork is done. So you can take your time regarding the changes.] And you told me that you have your sisters and your other relatives as well. And you’ve been Hyderabad for a while.] So we have this one more feature that we provide in this project that I think we had one of the only few giving here is that we have this duplex provision that we can take any two flats and convert into duplex or slightly larger or joint families or multi-generational families. Have you thought about availing any such facility?
Sandesh Kasupa:
As Because only for my parents and we both stay here, my brother stays in U.S. Okay. So we are not sure when he will be coming. Yeah. That provision was good. provision was very, really good.the thought was good but yeah, for us like, this is sufficient for now.Yeah. In future, if you want to upgrade again, any of the projects.
Devansh Bansal:
of course it of course, of course, 100% percent sir. And how do you, how do you think moving into DEV Signature one eventually and uh moving into a gated community with the amenities we have provided will change your daily life for routine. How do you see your life changing or being different from where you’re staying right now?
Sandesh Kasupa:
Yeah, so now where do we stay is a very busy road and it’s a bungalow where we have commercial down and we stay upwards. And let’s a very metro beside us. Exactly metro side beside us. So like pollution I guess, here atleast we’ll have little good amount of sunlight, proper ventilation, and maybe some space for walking, how we want, we need to go to other places that mid afternoon. So everything will be coming in the Gated Community. Because we will start doing some work workout or every day together.
Devansh Bansal:
Very nice to hear. I hope that my project lives up to your expectations. Our project lives up to your expectations now. So one very important thing that I feel that I wanted to really ask you and understand from you is it takes a certain amount of trust to buy a flat that has not been built yet. And I really want to ask you, what helped you gain the confidence or build that trust with us to buy a flat before it’s built?
Sandesh Kasupa:
Your team.
Mani Deepika:
Yeah, we have asked so many questions to them, like they were providing all the clearance and documents and all we have asked everything almost.
Sandesh Kasupa:
So I think no one has asked them these many questions so, oh, we asked So a lot of questions we asked them and they were giving answer and every answer.
Mani Deepika:
Here we felt genuine, Some felt like and everything. So there’ positively trusting the people.
Sandesh Kasupa:
Yes. And we hope the trust will continue?
Devansh Bansal:
Of course, everything We will require a level best to live up to your expectations as well.
Devansh Bansal:
And as per when it comes to a community, what do you have in mind? What kind of community do do you hope from Dev and this building? Do you have anything specific in mind or have you not really thought about this point?
Mani Deepika:
Actually, like I need a little bit our age group friends so that we can communicate and we’ll have little similar mindsets to mangle up, catch up and have some shy time and weekends. So my hobby is, I am a good dancer, actually.
Devansh Bansal:
Oh, wow.
Sandesh Kasupa:
Oh, if there is any studio room more than, then I can easily interact with people. I can make the old people, elder people, if you, I can make them help in Zumba every day.. Even during festivals and all, he can teach dance classes and if everyone is interested so he can plan the.
Devansh Bansal:
that’s a lovely thing. Then you’ll help the community more. Nice. So I had a very nice time meeting you talking to you. So to close off this conversation, I I want to ask you, when you imagine getting your keys and walking in to your flat, what comes to mind in that moment? What would you be thinking? Or how would you be feeling?
Mani Deepika:
As of now, that feels so excited actually.
Sandesh Kasupa:
Like dream come true. Yeah. So we had a dream that we need to move into some community, some. I mean,
Mani Deepika:
at least as a new house, we have building it together. That feels is very high. I mean, we can’t express it maybe. So you eagerly waiting for the hand over of the keys.
Devansh Bansal:
Believe me, sir, I feel I cannot decide whether you are more excited or I’m more excited because this is our first high rise project as well. It’s a very aspirational project for us. We have put in a lot of time and effort to try and make this as beautiful and as lively as possible. And I hope we find more lovely end use clients like you who believe the community that we’ve tried to build here. Thank you so much, sir.
Sandesh Kasupa:
Thank you so much. Nice talking to you.
Sandesh Kasupa:
Thank you.
